Overview
Project Darb aims to provide internship opportunities for Jordanian university students and fresh graduates in public, and private sector institutions and community organizations. The project is implemented in partnership with LOYAC Foundation to equip participants with the necessary skills and practical experience to enhance their employability and competitiveness in the Jordanian labor market.
Participants are trained on a range of skills, including self-discovery, CV writing, preparation for labor interviews, appropriate behavior and attitudes for the job market, volunteering and community service, an introduction to practical training, job market skills, teamwork, problem-solving and creative thinking, job market ethics and designing community initiatives. The training period lasts from 4 to 6 weeks during the summer, and students receive a payment of 30 Jordanian dinars per working week at the end of the training period. All participants are also required to carry out 16 hours of voluntary community service.
The Concept
Recognizing the importance and value of practical training for students and its impact on enhancing their employability, and due to the lack of practical experience among graduates and their unfamiliarity with labor market requirements while still Students, companies face difficulties in finding fresh graduates with basic work skills. Thus, internships serve as the link between education and practical experience.
Objectives
- Increasing participants' competitiveness in the job market by honing their skills and providing opportunities for them to gain practical experience.
- Introducing participants to the work environment, work ethics, time management, and the nature of the job market.
- Promote a culture of training among participants and host organizations.
- Increasing the number of available internship opportunities in companies, especially in governorates suffering from limited opportunities.
- Fostering a culture of active citizenship and voluntary work among participants, define their role in initiatives to develop their communities, and enhance their self-confidence in the face of the challenges and obstacles they may encounter.
Applicants should meet the following terms and conditions
The project targets undergraduates and fresh graduates who meet the following criteria:
- To be a Jordanian nationality.
- To be a university student or a fresh graduate.
- Age must be between 18 and 26 years.
- The training in the companies should not be part of the credit hours.
- The student should not be enrolled in the summer semester.
- The student should demonstrate responsibility and commitment during the theoretical and practical training period.
- The student should fill out the registration form for the project in full and accurately.

Achievements
13 cycles were held, with 13009 participants, from which 1060 have a permanent job after training.
