The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has commenced the theoretical training phase of the seventh cycle of the *Parliamentary Fellowship Project, which aims to empower Jordanian youth and enhance their knowledge and skills in political and parliamentary work, while providing them with a deeper understanding of legislative and oversight functions and parliamentary mechanisms. The training is being attended by **50 young men and women*.

During his meeting with the participants, KAFD Director General *Dr. Samer Mofleh* underscored the importance of the project in investing in youth and developing their capabilities in line with Jordan’s political modernization track. He noted that combining theoretical training with practical experience provides participants with a comprehensive experience that enables them to further develop their knowledge and skills and prepare for effective participation in public and political life.

The two-month theoretical training covers a range of specialized topics related to political and parliamentary work, including communication and effective communication skills, preparing position papers, political and digital media, political and parliamentary work, legal and legislative drafting, as well as training in political and legal research methodologies and artificial intelligence tools.

The theoretical training phase will be followed by field training at the Parliament, covering both the Senate and the House of Representatives, during the ordinary session of the House of Representatives. This phase will provide participants with first-hand exposure to the parliamentary work environment, an opportunity to follow legislative and oversight processes, and practical application of the knowledge and skills acquired during the theoretical phase.

Since its launch in 2019, the *Parliamentary Fellowship Project* has continued to provide young people with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into parliamentary work and acquire experience and skills that enhance their understanding of the roles of legislative institutions and their ability to participate effectively in public and political life. To date, *460 young men and women* have benefited from the project, gaining practical experience that contributes to strengthening their participation in public and political life.
