The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched the second sector under this year’s “Tariqi” Project, focusing on Software Quality Assurance (SQA) for mobile applications and websites. The initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian youth and strengthen their employability across diverse and promising sectors that align with evolving labor market demands.
The sector seeks to equip Jordanian youth with the technical and professional skills and practical experience needed to enter the labor market through an integrated training program combining life skills development, specialized technical training, and hands-on practical experience within host companies. This approach is designed to enhance participants’ employment readiness and strengthen their ability to compete in in-demand fields.
KAFD Director General Dr. Samer Mofleh said that the launch of the second sector under the “Tariqi” Project reflects the Fund’s approach to aligning its programs and projects with changing labor market requirements, while focusing on promising sectors that offer professional opportunities for youth. He emphasized the importance of providing specialized training programs that respond to actual demand for skills and competencies and offer young people practical opportunities to build their professional experience.
Mofleh added that, this year, the project continues to operate across four diverse and promising sectors, selected based on labor market needs and future job requirements. This contributes to enhancing young people’s readiness to transition from education into professional life and supports the Economic Modernization Vision’s focus on investing in human capital and developing skills.
The second sector targets Jordanian youth aged 21–27 from across the Kingdom’s governorates, who hold academic qualifications or backgrounds in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.
The “Tariqi” Project is one of KAFD’s initiatives implemented in partnership with the UK-based The King’s Trust International (KTI), through the Business Development Center (BDC), since 2015. The project aims to support young people and equip them with the skills and experience needed to enhance their integration into the labor market. To date, the project has supported the training and development of 1,124 young men and women, with 596 securing employment opportunities, demonstrating the project’s impact in linking training with labor market needs and translating acquired skills into tangible career opportunities.
