Preparatory Sessions for 13th Electronic Games Summit Kick Off

The preparatory sessions for the 13th Electronic Games Summit commenced today, Saturday, ahead of the main event to be held on November 8–9 under a Royal Patronage.

The summit is organized by the Jordan Gaming Lab, one of the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) initiatives, the summit is held this year under the theme “From North to South: Learning Through Play.”
The summit will host the Pocket Gamer Connects Global Conference, featuring participation from game developers, students, educators, and experts in technology, education, and entrepreneurship.
Preparatory sessions have been launched in Jerash, Madaba, and Ma’an, serving as a prelude to the summit’s main activities.
In Jerash, the sessions are taking place at the Northern Theatre under the title “History Meets Innovation,” focusing on how digital games can creatively and interactively utilize cultural and historical heritage.
In Madaba, they are being held at Mount Nebo under the title “Art, Design, and Education,” highlighting the role of visual arts in the development of educational games, along with showcasing the Minecraft Education program implemented in Jordanian schools as a model of learning through play.
In Ma’an, the sessions are hosted at the Palace of the Founding King under the theme “Youth, Entrepreneurship, and Industry,” exploring entrepreneurial opportunities in the electronic gaming sector, project pitching mechanisms for investors, and modern business models in the field.
The sessions are organized and implemented in collaboration with the technical and administrative partner of the Jordan Gaming Lab, Maysalward, alongside a number of local and international partners and experts, including Tamatem Games, Mad Hook, and the EduHax Platform, as well as specialists from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.

The Jordan Gaming Lab has launched in 2011 through the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, aiming to develop the electronic gaming industry in Jordan by providing a nurturing environment for developers and companies, offering training to enhance their programming and gaming design skills, raising awareness about the sector’s importance, and building a generation of creative young Jordanians capable of competing locally and regionally.
