'Tariqi' ups youth's competitiveness to facilitate entry into labor market

Amman –– In continuation of its role in supporting practical and technical training programs and activities aimed at enhancing the competitive advantage of Jordanian youth to enter the labor market, King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) has launched the eighth cycle of the Tariqi project.
The project targets the sectors of information and communication technology (ICT), insurance, banking and health, retail, hospitality, customer service, logistics, and embedded systems programming using the MicroPython language.
Applying specific conditions and criteria, KAFD is receiving applications for the (insurance) sector within the age group (21-27) through (join.kafd.jo), with January 21 as the deadline.
The project aims to increase the employability of Jordanian youth through upskilling. Participants engage in a training program involving different aspects of life skills (team building, leadership, communication skills, time management, problem-solving and work ethics, resume building and interviews,), along with technical training skills related to the target sector.
In addition, participants receive on-the-job training under the supervision of a group of experienced trainers in each target sector to ensure that they acquire basic knowledge and concepts and build and develop technical skills, a process that will enhance their chances of finding jobs.
It is noteworthy that the project, which was launched in 2015 as part of a strategic partnership with the British Prince’s Trust International and is being implemented in cooperation with the Business Development Center (BDC), has so far secured 371 employment opportunities for participants, while 781 young men and women have received training.
