King Abdullah II Fund for Development launches a new cycle of Undergraduates Research& Innovation support project


The King Abdullah II Fund for Development launches a new cycle of Undergraduates Research& Innovation support project (RISP). to support university students as a proceeding to its efforts to support young people and provide the necessary tools to them for creativity and innovation by providing financial and technical support to implement their projects/ researches, as per the recently decided development plan of the project 2022.

In line with the outputs of the economic modernization vision of pioneering and creativity engines- research, development and innovation engine; the developing plan of the project is based on increasing the impact of interest, seeking contribution to achieve development and providing applicable practical solutions to various problems and national challenges, whereas the focus will be on supporting qualitative projects/ researches that are applicable and sustainable, or lead to a patent or contribute to solve a society problem.

The project aims to contribute and create productive and effective community in the scientific and educational aspects, spread the positive spirit of competition among university students, which is an incentive for them to develop their scientific and practical skills, in addition to support the process of sustainable development by raising the level of human resources as well as developing the higher education to become dependable on creative researches/ projects rather than memorization.

The project is based on two aspects: free researches/ projects decided and agreed by professors and students, and projects proposed by the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB).

University students will be able to apply via: (join.kafd.jo) within specific conditions and criteria as from October 20th to November 20th, while a technical committee will undertake the task of selecting projects/ researches after attending presentations by students in presence of the project supervisors, and the competent committee will follow up the implementation stages of the winning projects, as these projects receive a financial support up to 5000 Jordanian Dinars.

It is worth to mention that the Undergraduates Research& Innovation support project was launched and implemented in 2004 in partnership with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau which provided support to (363) graduation projects/ researches creating (1572) direct and indirect opportunities.
