Supporting Youth Entrepreneurs’ Projects with funds up to a quarter of a million Dinars
AMMAN - The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, is launching " Bhmtkm " program to support youth projects, with funding amounting to a quarter of a million dinars, targeting youth entrepreneurial projects in all governorates, in order to encourage entrepreneurship among Jordanian youth.
The idea of the program is to provide financial and technical support to young people and provide training, guidance and training opportunities for them to transform their entrepreneurial ideas into economic projects and encourage the rest of the youth to follow their steps and start their projects to achieve a sustainable return.
The program aims to build the capacities of young people in preparing the necessary action plans to transform their ideas into economic projects and provide initial support to enable them to implement them and encourage them towards self-employment projects, which contributes to reducing unemployment and fights against poverty.
“Bhmtkm” targets owners of entrepreneurial or emerging projects from various sectors and owners of existing self-employment projects registered in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply after October 1, 2020, where support will be provided to (50) economic projects as financial grants of a value of (5000) dinars as a maximum for each project, while its owner will contribute 10% of its total value to ensure its sustainability.
Young people wishing to benefit from the project will be able to submit their applications through www.jedco.gov.jo, until November 13.
According to the program’s work plan, training on the work plans is expected to be provided to (150) project owners from all governorates, while financial support will be selected and provided to (50) distinguished winning projects, in addition to providing them with technical support including, training, guidance, and networking with other supporting bodies..
A technical committee will be formed for evaluation, selection and follow-up. It will take these points into consideration such as: non-traditional projects have a great opportunity to create new jobs, and enjoy a great competitive advantage, which are implemented through national associations by means of manufacturing the product in existing Jordanian factories or workshops.
