Learning Through Travel

The Learning Through Travel project seeks to provide opportunities for undergraduates in Jordanian universities and young entrepreneurs to interact and communicate with others outside Jordan to acquire new experiences and skills and to get connected with regional and international institutions, in addition to, spreading awareness of the culture of (Learning Through Travel).  The project provides financial support to cover the costs of tickets and visas (in part or in whole) for students who are distinguished in extracurricular activities and purposeful training programs.

 

The Vision

The Learning Through Travel project was established in 2006 as part of KAFD goals that aim to use networking and exchanging experiences as a method to develop the creative skills for the youth, enhance entrepreneurship and build their leadership capabilities.

 

 

Objectives

  • Support undergraduates in Jordanian universities and young entrepreneurs to participate in youthful activities and various training programs around the world.
  • improve young Jordanians skills, by developing their leadership abilities through exploring other experiences.
  • Exchange experiences and knowledge to activate youthful energies in effective participation in their community.

 

Achievements

 

Through the Learning Through Travel Project, KAFD provided 2104 opportunities for young men and women from various public and private Jordanian universities to participate in activities outside Jordan, which varied between internship activities in the medical field, attending scientific and cultural conferences, and participating in global competitions and sports competitions.

 

Eligibility to apply:

 

* If the applicant is an undergraduate in a Jordanian university, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

1. Applicant must be of Jordanian nationality.

2. Applicant must be between 18 and 27 years old.

3. Applicant must be a university student at the bachelor's level.

 

* If the applicant is an entrepreneur active, creative, talented or innovative in a field, the following conditions must be fulfilled:

1. Applicant must be of Jordanian nationality.

2. Applicant must be between 16 and 35 years old.

3. Applicant must be a member of the network of beneficiaries of the KAFD’s programs initiatives and projects.

4. Applicant must have carried out volunteer work to serve local communities for a total of not less than (30) volunteer work hours.

 

Travel goals supported by the project:

 

A- Participation in cultural and artistic activities and events.

B- Participation in activities and events related to entrepreneurship.

C- Participation in activities and events in the sectors of information technology, environment, tourism, and human development.

D- Representing Jordan in Arab and international sporting championships.

E- Participation in activities and events related to the undergraduate’s scientific specialization.
