Providing School Children with Vitamins
Following a visit to the Ministry of Education in September 2002, His Majesty King Abdullah issued directives to provide schoolchildren with vitamins on a daily basis to improve their health and nutrition standards and ensure them better immunity against diseases. This was prone to reflect positively on their mental abilities and strengthen their physical well- being. In response, KAFD, in partnership with the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Jordan, adopted a program to distribute multivitamins to school children, covering all governorates in the Kingdom. The local pharmaceutical companies produced the vitamins free of charge according to a production quota system established by the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, handed out the vitamins to school students on a daily basis.
