International Travel Support
Concept:
Amongst the variety of programs that KAFD established in order to support innovation and excellence among talented Jordanian university students, KAFD has launched a program aimed at supporting university students in activities abroad. The program covers the costs of travel tickets (partially or fully) and the full visa expenses for students that are active in academic and non-academic programs. The purpose of this is program is to lift any financial barriers that may prevent Jordanian students from participating in international events.
Requirements:
· Must be a university student at the undergraduate level
· Applications must be submitted on an individual basis
· Must be of Jordanian nationality
· Good grasp of the English language
· Must be able to represent Jordan in a positive manner in order to send across a good image of the country
· The program must be relevant to the applicants field of study
· The applicant must be capable of expressing himself/herself
· The event attended must be of importance and have a positive impact on the student.
· The applicant must prepare an action plan in order to share the experience with other students upon return, and implant his/her program through KAFD career counseling offices
· Airfare tickets should be economy class and not business or first class.
· Must apply at least 6 weeks before travel date (the earlier the better)
· In the case that the applicant is no longer travelling, he/she must inform KAFD two weeks prior to travel, clarifying the reasons behind it. KAFD reserves the right to ask for full reimbursement from the applicant.
Implementation:
· Applicant must fill in the application form (available on KAFD website) in Arabic and in English. For all programs that are run in English, the English form must be completed. Otherwise, either form is acceptable.
· The following documents must be attached with the application form
o A recommendation letter from the director of the KAFD Career Counseling Office at the applicant's university
o The applicant's resume
o A photo copy of the applicant's ID card and passport
o A copy of the invitation/acceptance letter from the program which the applicant wishes to attend
· The programs and projects department studies the application and the nature of the activity, its importance and upon it evaluate the expenses which KAFD will cover.
· KAFD staff might conduct an interview whether be it over the phone or in person.
· In case KAFD agrees to sponsor the student, the student is responsible for buying his/her airfare ticket and presenting KAFD with the invoice in order to issue a check for the amount spent in his/her name (not the name of the organization that nominated them to partake in the activity).
· The student must provide the visa slip for reimbursement.
· Upon return, applicant must present KAFD with a brief report about the activity.
