National Microfinance Bank

The Bank was founded in implementation of Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al- Abdullah vision for fighting poverty. Her Majesty welcomed Saudi Prince Talal bin Adul Aziz's initiative to establish a fund in Jordan as a part of a regional initiative launched at the hands of the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND). The aim was to assist Arab countries in establishing their own microcredit organizations to finance projects for the needy, while ensuring sustainability of financial income of beneficiaries. NMB was established in Jordan by a Royal Decree in 2005. The Bank was registered as a private shareholding company with a capital of JD10m.. The Bank works to finance productive projects for the underprivileged segments of the society, spread a culture of microcredit and carry out activities that are likely to serve its mission.

The bank's head office is in Amman, while it has branches in: Zarqa, Karak, Salt, Mafraq, Marka and Wihdat and Baqa'a camps, and Marka. The bank has managed to provide about 20,000 loans for Jordanian citizens.
