Based on the Royal vision of a self-sustaining historical re-enactment sector in Jordan, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) created the Jordan Heritage Revival Company in 2010. JHRC seeks to provide authentic, engaging, and entertaining experiences for both Jordanian and foreign visitors in order to reveal Jordanian history in a creative manner. JHRC also ensures that the projects will provide greater economic opportunities for the local communities and will focus on employing military retirees.
JHRC currently manages two re-enactment shows and a guard exchange in Petra. Projects are under development in Shobak and Wadi Rum.
A recent visit by His Majesty King Abdullah II to Petra allowed JHRC to highlight the project's benefits.
