The National Microfinance Bank has been founded and implemented under Their Majesties’,
King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, vision for fighting poverty. Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has welcomed Saudi Prince Talal bin Adul Aziz's project to establish a fund in Jordan as part of a regional initiative launched by the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND) under the umbrella of KAFD. The aim has been to assist Arab countries in establishing their own microcredit organizations and to finance sustainable projects for the needy, which in turn generates income. The bank's head office is in Amman, andit has branches in Zarqa, Karak, Salt, Mafraq, Marka, Wihdat, and Baqa'a camps. The bank has managed to provide about 20,000 loans for Jordanian citizens.
