An initiative supported by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, "The Gaming Lab" is a facility that is specifically designed to meet the needs of the developers and companies in game design and development. It is a place dedicated to exploration and innovation of converging technologies. Within a supportive environment, the King Abdullah II Fund for Development has launched the Lab to act as an initial incubator where young Jordanian creative minds can experiment with technology and can work on developing their own game ideas. The aim of the Lab is to support and elevate the gaming sector as a fast growing and promising industry in Jordan, and benchmark Jordan as the gaming hub in the region.

Members of the Lab will learn the essentials of game design, learn about storytelling, create game characters, storyboard, game scenarios productions, design a game interface and GUI, create sound effects and game play music, explore popular video games and get the access to cutting-edge technologies and training, as well as the latest conceptual developments and links to international game community. The hardware and software in the lab will be specifically available throughout partnership with OEMs and manufacturers of high-end PC, consoles and mobiles specializing in the area of games and interactive applications.

Beyond technology development, the Lab will also have a library, conduct research on the artistic, creative, business and social aspects of games. The Lab will provide a state of the art setup for game developers to test, educate, and interact, while equipped with an entire tool box to develop their skills.

The Gaming Lab will play a major role in the collaboration between academic and corporate entities to develop well-prepared members of the gaming sector throughout promoting game development as a career. The Lab will also aim to create game business and commerce in Jordan and leverage the existing companies in this growing sector of digital-content, where businesses at a later stage could use the Lab to group test their products using dozens of testers simultaneously. The game laboratory could also serve as a game recruitment and training facility and be used for gaming business meetings and workshop activities.
