  • Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates
  • The Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates has convened four times during 2005-2008. Co-hosted by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), the conference gathers dozens of Nobel Laureates from the six disciplines in which the Nobel Prize is awarded each year and international figures to share their insights into global challenges and to generate innovative, practical proposals to address them.
  • Previous Youth Forums
  • Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, KAFD organized the first and second Jordan Youth Forums in May, 2003 and July the following year. During these events, a group of distinguished students from various Jordanian universities met with administrators of educational institutions and specialists from the public and private sectors. The educators listened to the students' opinions and suggestions concerning the support of innovation and distinction. His Majesty the King addressed both meetings, stressing on the importance of sustaining communication and productive partnership between the students and civil society institutions concerned with supporting students' innovation and excellence and enhancing their participation in planning the future. The end of this event saw the birth of a follow-up committee comprising students and representatives from public and private sectors and NGOs. Their aim was to form a suitable mechanism of communication serving the youth sector.
