The enhancement of the agriculture sector in Jordan is directly associated with the improvement of living standards for Jordanian farmers and the promotion of Jordanian products in regional and global agricultural areas. The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) established several pioneering agricultural projects in different areas around the country (AlQasimiyah, GhorAlsafi, DeirAlla). These projects contributed to the provision of jobs to farmers in impoverished areas, and trained them on novel farming technologies to improve the quality and exportability of Jordanian agricultural products. In 2009, KAFD, in partnership with other organizations, has launched the National Program for Organic Farming. This project aims at increasing the awareness of this type of farming among Jordanian farmers in order to have healthier products and to better utilize Jordan’s natural resources.
This is a productive agricultural project that aims at providing employment opportunities for the citizens of Ma’an and especially those living in Al Tasan, Al Mraighah, and Al Qasimiyah areas. Project Land Area: 600 Dunums. The Managing Party: Al Haqq Foundation. Achievements:
