Under the patronage of His Excellency Eng. Alaa Batayneh, Chairman of The King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), a partnership was signed today, between the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA), one of KAFD’s developmental projects, and École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), whereas the agreement was signed by RACA’s Chairman His Excellency Dr. Wajih Owais and EHL Representative Mr. Olivier Roux.
His Excellency Eng. Batayneh mentioned that this agreement derives from KAFD’s developmental plans and in line with the National Strategy of Human Resource Development outcomes which aims at enhancing the education sector at all levels, in order to meet the international standards in the fields of vocational education.
His Excellency Dr. Owais assured that this agreement arises from RACA’s strategy to attract partnerships with top international educational institutions in order to develop RACA’s curriculum, in addition to educate the students and instructors with the international culinary skills. Moreover, to strengthen RACA’s position in the hospitality and tourism sector around the MENA Region.
RACA’s Director, Mr. Jacques Rossel, highlighted that this partnership aims to support the expansion of RACA’s operation in various areas, Whereas EHL will participate in developing the (Hospitality and Culinary Arts Bachelor Degree Program) that RACA is planning to launch in the near future. In addition, improving the current (International Diploma Program) leading to increase the employability of RACA’s graduates.
École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) is the first hospitality University in the world established in 1893, usually recognized as the top hotel management school in the world. EHL has the largest communication network in the hospitality industry, with more than 25000 alumni and a yearly enrollment of 2360 students from various nationalities.
Royal Academy of Culinary Art (RACA) was established based upon His Majesty King Abdullah II vision as a non-profit organization in 2008, founded under the umbrella of KAFD and fully owned by the fund, with the goal of promoting the non-traditional disciplines leading to elevate people’s potentials and providing the culinary industry in Jordan and the region with top notch chefs, future leaders, trendsetters and innovators.
